Formal Project Officer's Report 2007
Western Australian Trainees have produced some interesting Formal Projects during the year. Several of the Trainees presented their projects at the WA Autumn Scientific Meeting whilst others submitted published works.

Case Report: “Difficult double-lumen tube placement due to Laryngeal web”. Written with Dr R Riley. Submitted for publication in AIC. |

Dr Reshma Pargass |
Case Report: “Suspected Air Embolism following fall from great height”. Reviewed by Dr L Wang and W Weightman. |

Dr Elizabeth Holt |
Has written the protocol for a review to be published on the Cochran Library website in April 07. The review is entitle “Non-pharmacological interventions for induction of anaesthesia in children”. |

Dr Chui Chong |
A research project with Professor Stephan Schug, "Bioavailability of keramine after oral or sublingual administration". Presented at Adelaide ANZCA meeting in 2006, and the abstract printed in both AIC and Pain Medicine. Approved by Frank Moloney, College assistant assessor. |

Dr David Law |
A case report, "Unexplained Anaemia after massive transfusion for haematemesis". Published in Critical Care and Resuscitation in 2006. Written with Mark Lennon. |

Dr Gene Palmer |
Bachelor of Science at UWA with a double major in Pharmacology and Biochemistry. Completed an Honours thesis in Biochemistry under the supervision of Professor Peter Klinken titled, " The role of Lyn in erythropoiesis". Approved by College assistant assessor, Dr Frank Moloney. |

Dr Steve Lamb |
“A retrospective descriptive series to determine the effect of anaesthetic technique on intraoperative complications and post operative respiratory support requirements in ex-premature neonates undergoing laser treatment for retinopathy of prematurity”. The study was completed at PMH with Drs Lim and Johnston. |
